In this role, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating and customizing WordPress themes and plugins. You will work closely with design and marketing teams to build responsive, high-performing websites that align with client business goals. An ideal candidate has a strong understanding of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, along with a keen eye for UI/UX aesthetics. Since our client handles a diverse portfolio of international and domestic projects, a working knowledge of Shopify development will be a major advantage and will put you on a fast track for growth within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage websites using WordPress from concept to deployment.
- Customize, tweak, and extend existing WordPress themes and plugins based on specific project requirements.
- Develop custom plugins and themes from scratch when out-of-the-box solutions fall short.
- Ensure high-performance and availability of websites, managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
- Optimize web applications for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing website frameworks and database integrations.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and visual layouts into functional, responsive web pages.
- Assist with basic Shopify store setups, theme modifications, and liquid code changes as needed.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in core PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Proven experience customizing popular WordPress themes (e.g., Elementor, Divi, Avada) and builders.
- Solid understanding of the WordPress template hierarchy, hooks, actions, and filters.
- Experience managing website hosting environments, migrations, and domain configurations.
- Familiarity with responsive web design principles and mobile-first development.
- Good understanding of website security best practices and SEO-friendly clean coding.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of Shopify development, including Liquid templates and Shopify apps ecosystem.
- Basic understanding of front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
- Knowledge of WooCommerce setup, payment gateway integrations, and API configurations.
